Care Ministry
Be Devoted To One Another In Love.
(Romans 12:10)
We Care
The Care Ministry is overseen by the deacons. If you have questions or would like to be part of the Care Team, please email us at careministry@lockwoodchurch.org. You can also contact the deacons at deacon@lockwoodchurch.org.
Culture of Caring
Why Does The Church Care?
We care because God, our heavenly father, so graciously cared for us.
From health problems to coping with the death of a loved one to financial worries and mental health crises, we have all been touched by loss, stress, or heartache. The Care Team identifies areas of need and recruits brothers and sisters in Christ to assist. We want to be with each other in joyous times and in times of sorrow, remembering that this work is our duty and calling.

Visitation
The deacons visit and pray with LCC families in their homes, in nursing care facilities and in the hospital. People who are unable to attend church may receive communion in their homes upon request.

The Care Team coordinates monthly visits to church family members who are homebound or in nursing homes.
Transportation Service
With the help of volunteers, the deacons and the Care Team assist in helping to find transportation for our church family members who need help getting to appointments.
Meal Train
Whether it is the arrival of a new baby, surgeries, extended illnesses or condolences, the Meal Train assists by organizing meals for those in need. Volunteers help ease the burden by signing up to cook and deliver a meal.
Parish Nurse
Meet with a nurse or other health professional to talk through questions you may have about your medical care. They will listen, pray, and think through your health situation with you.
Worker Bees
The deacons organize Worker Bee events to help those in need of practical care such as yard work or housecleaning.
Benevolent Fund
This fund helps church family members who experience an emergency financial need. It is supported entirely by donations from the church family and is managed by the deacons.
Confidential financial counseling is available for those who request it.
Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministry publishes a set of four short books which are sent to those who are grieving at crucial times during the difficult first year after losing a loved one:
-

Card Ministry
Our card ministry is one of the ways we keep in touch with those who are sick and shut-in, reminding them they are not forgotten and that they are loved and prayed for often.

We also reach out to LCC children ages 3 to 18 years with birthday wishes. New babies are welcomed with a gift bag, lovingly packed with a personalized Bible, a handmade blanket, and helpful gifts.
